Why the Vikings?
LeadershipThe Vikings Futbol Club is managed and operated by a volunteer board and paid professionals. Through collaboration, the board and paid administration work tirelessly to push the club ahead. Our organization faces challenges each year, but with the dedicated individuals involved, we get it all done and provide a great soccer environment.

Coaching and Executive StaffThe Vikings is one of the only community clubs in Bergen County that covers nearly all of their teams internally with Vikings dedicated trainers. We do have hand selected trainers from various training companies, but they know their priority is the team they train and that Sunday game-day coaching is very important.
Our independent trainers work directly for the club and are supervised by Executive Director of Coaching Chris Eftychiou with support from the Girls Director of Coaching, Joe Albanese, Boys Director of Coaching Melvin Phillips, and Assistant Director of Coaching Jason Rueda. All admininstration is handled by our volunteer adminiatrator and registrar, Monica Cohen. It is a unique situation to have a local club with staff coaches that work purely with the organization. Our staff consists of local educators that bring their classroom management skills and understanding of curricula and lesson structure to the field. Make new friends (and we don't mean the kids only!)Being a regional club, taking players from neighboring towns, the Vikings is a great place to make new friends. Over the years, we have witnessed lifelong friendships built between players and between families.
Spending 20 games a year together cheering for your kids is more time than you spend with most people. The girls and boys train up to 60 hours a year (not counting winter and summer) and play in those 20 games. Besides teaching them to all play on a team and struggle towards mastery, it also unifies children that often attend high school together. |
