U8/U9 Girls - GilbertThe U8 and U9 Combined Vikings squad had a great time at the tournament. With hard work, skill, and a bit of luck, we managed to pull off 3rd place in our bracket. Coaches Grusd, Gilbert, Eftychiou, and Rueda had a great time leading the girls. They say too many chefs spoil the broth. Whoever came up with that never tasted this broth! Both on and off the field, the girls were energized, laughing, and making friendships that will surely last well into high school and beyond. Congrats to this wonderful group and thank you to all the parents.

U11 Girls - PavellIn a flight that had our C flighted team matched up with some very good B flighted teams, Vikings -Pavell's perseverance, pride and skill saw us come in second in our tough bracket, out of first by a point with 2 bonus points awarded for clean sheets.
With Coach Eftychiou at the helm, the team then played the second place team of the other bracket and came out victorious, with daring goalie play, an undaunting defense and midfield and forwards that kept the pressure up. We won the trophy you see here, but the memories of the hotel and our team dinner was the real prize. |
U13 Girls - ReduceThe Vikings U13 Girls team had a great tournament with some close games played against tough competition from some towns we have never heard of (Rancocas Valley??). They came away with 1 win, 1 loss, 2 ties and countless memories. The highlight of the weekend was in their final game Sunday evening when they went into the second half with a very comfortable 6-0 lead which allowed the coaches to play sweepers as strikers, forwards as defenders and perhaps most exciting their full time goalie played the entire second half at holding mid where she showed terrific skill, strength and tactics. The coaches had a great time too and despite the busy schedule managed to stay well fed and hydrated.

U10 Boys - Attali
After moving up in a flight in their age group, these U10 Vikings were ready face to anything that came their way. They played some brilliant soccer and very tough defending. The boys showed improvement in every game, especially for those participating in their first ever tournament. They did very well to work hard for each other and walked away with their head held high.

U11 Boys - Maisel
A first for a large portion of the group, the boys came out hoping to play some great soccer. They did that and more. They sweeped group play with great defending and some clinical finishing. Their undefeated streak didn't stop there. Into the playoffs, they continued their dominating play. Fun was had by all as they walked home with the team's first ever championship trophy and the second for the boy's side of the club at the Manalapan Memorial Day Tournament.
