4.) How are teams formed at the Vikings?
Teams are formed based on overall ability. Feedback from evaluators at tryouts and feedback from trainers/coaches from the prior season all factor into the decisions. Details on Birthyear Issues: We recognize that your child might be a different birthyear than peers that are in their grade. A 2nd grader currently may be birthyear 2014, but many of her peers may be 2015. They are playing on different Vikings teams. At times, players can be asked to play up, mostly due to logistical issues. A group of 2010 birth year players, may need a few players to form a viable roster. In that case, some 2011 players would be placed on this team. This is known as playing up an age group. This is a ONE YEAR AGREEMENT. Families should expect to return to their proper birthyear in the future.

6.) Can my child play another sport in addition to Vikings soccer?
Absolutely. We believe in the development of the whole athlete and many of our players choose to play other sports. We make every effort to work with other organizations to avoid conflicts. In fact, the Vikings will always attempt to offer alternate training sessions for players with conflicts. That being said, we do ask that players and their families communicate openly with the club so we can all work together.
